About the BSB60420 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply specialised knowledge and skills, together with experience in leadership and management, across a range of enterprise and industry contexts. You’ll learn to apply appropriate judgment and initiative in order to respond to complex situations and deliver consistent results, no matter which organisation you work for or the industry you’re in. Individuals at this level use initiative and judgement to plan and implement a range of leadership and management functions, with accountability for personal and team outcomes within broad parameters.

You’ll also develop the vital cognitive and communication skills that will allow you to analyse information from a variety of sources and effectively communicate that knowledge to your team members and colleagues as well as your superiors and senior leaders.

  • All Students must be aged 18 years or over (International Students) at the time of applying for admission to BAA.

  • Entry to this qualification is limited to those who:
    – Have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma from the BSB Training Package (current or superseded equivalent versions); or
    – Have two years equivalent full-time relevant workplace experience in an operational or leadership role in an enterprise.

  • Satisfactory completion of studies in Student’s home country equivalent to an Australian Year 11/12 Qualification

  • IELTS band score of overall 5.5 (Academic or General) or equivalent in line with the Department of Education and DHA regulations

  • Learners are required to be competent in written and spoken English and will undertake a Language, Literacy and Numeracy test prior to commencing the training.

  • You are able to attend the scheduled classroom training sessions as per the timetable

  • You will have access to a computer and the internet for the duration of the course

  • If student’s educational qualifications do not meet BAA’s admission requirements, other factors may be considered at the discretion of BAA. (Please contact admission staff for more details and refer to Application, Enrolment and Orientation policy for further details)

BAA uses a learning management system (LMS) for online course delivery and assessment submission.

The following are the minimum information technology requirements to enable optimal access to the LMS:

Assessments are competency and not exam based. Students are required to complete written questions, projects, and practical activities and other methods of assessments, which reflect the requirements of the units of competency and current workplace practices. Assessment is continuous throughout the duration of the course. Assessments are submitted through BAA’s Learning Management System and will be assessed within ten (10) working days and feedback provided to the student as soon as possible. Where the student’s work is assessed to be not yet satisfactory, he/she will be provided with additional advice, coaching or tutoring and the opportunity to resubmit the work with a view to having it assessed as satisfactory. Feedback and information regarding the student’s competency, progress and study will be provided on a regular and ongoing basis. Ongoing support is also available to all students.

52 weeks (Includes public holidays, breaks and support sessions)

Study Mode: Full time (20 hours per week) including:

  • Two-7.5 hours sessions

  • One-5 hour self-directed study session per week

This equates for 20 hours of full-time study per week

Delivery Mode: Blended Model supported with Learning Management System.
