About the Qualification
The BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management is a nationally recognised qualification under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). It reflects the role of individuals who apply knowledge, practical skills and judgment in leadership and management contexts across a wide range of enterprise and industry settings - including building and construction.
You’ll build practical leadership and management skills to confidently lead teams and workplace relationships, manage projects and operations, maintain a safe workplace, and communicate with influence. You’ll also develop skills in critical thinking, innovation, diversity and inclusion, risk management, budgeting and financial planning.
Students are required to complete 12 units.

This qualification will be available to complete over 18 months at your own pace, requiring around 10 hours per week toward your studies.
Assessments combine written and practical tasks reflecting real workplace situations, including:
Written assignments and case studies - applying leadership and management concepts to workplace scenarios
Knowledge questions - demonstrating understanding of key frameworks and relevant legislation
Practical demonstrations - simulating leadership tasks such as team briefings or performance conversations
Portfolio of evidence - building a body of work evidencing competency across the qualification
Workplace projects - where applicable, drawing on actual work experience
All assessments are submitted through BAA's LMS. Assessment support sessions with trainers are bookable by all students.
